35mm Slides 
Hecker Video can scan your 35mm slides for viewing on a DVD in the convenience of your home or for printing.
What we do
- We transfer your slides onto a premium quality DVD, recorded in the DVD-R format for maximum compatibility with DVD players.
- All DVDs come standard with a vinyl library case and cover printed with your name. See below for options such as a custom case with images from the DVD, custom disc label, music, opening title and graphics and editing.
- We clean, prepare and orient the slide for scanning to assure the best appearance on the DVD.
- All slides are scanned using Digital Ice software that adjusts color, reduces scratches for image correction and enhancement.
- Slides can be scanned at resolutions ranging from 600 dpi for general use to 4000dpi for high quality enlargements.
- Each slide is converted into a .jpg file for use in a DVD slide show or picture disc for TV viewing.
- A DVD will hold approximately 940 JPEG files in a slide show format.
- The slides can also be converted to a TIFF file that gives maximum flexibility and is preferred for printing, editing or archiving. TIFF flies are viewed through your computer DVD ROM drive. They are not used in a DVD slide show.
- A Data DVD holds approximately 900 TIFF files scanned at 600dpi.
- Slides can be grouped into folders that you name (up to 5 folders).
Prices
Hecker Video offers several scan resolutions, depending on your requirements.
- To view your slides on a DVD player, a 1200 dpi scan will provide a high quality image.
- To print high quality photos from slides at 1200 dpi on a typical ink jet printer, select the maximum print size desired from the chart. If you want to print only a portion of a photo, choose a higher scan resolution to assure a sharp image.

Minimum charge for transferring slides to a DVD is $65.00
Options
- Add light, easy listening music or music of your choice to the DVD for $10.00 per hr. A nice addition when displaying silent images.
- Upgrade to a custom package that includes images from your DVD on the library case, a custom disc label and an opening title and graphics at the start of DVD for $20.00.
- Order extra copies of the DVD for family and friends for $10.00 each.
- Editing price depends on the extent of the editing. Call us with your request.
What you do
- Using a pencil, number each slide, starting with #1. This will be the slide's sequence on the DVD. Do NOT use a pen or a marker as the ink may rub off onto other slides.
- Select the scan resolution. Call us to get the best price for your project.
- Advise us about options such as music, editing, custom cover and extra copies of the DVD.
Notes on slide condition:
- Almost all slides can be transferred to DVD. Storage of your film can affect the quality, color and general condition. Film may have deteriorated from extremes of heat and cold if stored in an attic or from high humidity if stored a basement. This is why it is important to convert your slides to DVD.
